One of the most striking examples of southern Moroccan architecture, the Ksar of Aït Benhaddou is thought to date to the 11th century, with the current buildings built in the 17th century, likely using the original construction techniques.
Aït Benhaddou was once a major stop along the caravan route between Marrakech and the Sahara; now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Ksar is perhaps most famous as a film and TV set, with the following just some of the productions shot there:
